MIT Media Lab Does Something Useful

A fellow in the office has an Orb. And it is very, very cool. I’d like to see the next generation support local 802.11/ethernet. Though the pager truly gives it some freedom for other embedded uses.

I have a ham radio ^H^H^H Treo 600.

Even without the fancy 320×320 screens on most new Palm devices … the Treo 600 is very nice. Sure, it’s a little bigger than my Nokia 6310i. But I can play Bejeweled on the plane.

I have a 256 Mb MMC card in it, so I can tote around all sorts of garbage. And the wireless net access is *much* more useful than I would have expected. I found out my delayed plane was leaving earlier than expected via my Treo rather than by any announcements at the airport. Not bad. Check out Treo Central for general Treo crap.

You must get FileZ if you use any Palm OS device with expanded storage. (Don’t worry, it is free.)

TV, Nukes and Wireless

eBay is always interesting. As the seller states “These are the ONLY Radioactive Uranium Doped Marbles on eBay that have been Investigated by the USA Nuclear Regulatory Commission!”.

Randomly wondering about free wireless connections in Boston I found another reason NYC is superior.
